According to the OREB the average price of a resale home in Ottawa climbed to $259,140. as of May 2006, combined with an increase in the number of homes sold for the month of May.

While it is suspected recent activity of high-end homes may have skewed the average sale price to some extent, the 8% year-over-year increase of homes sold for the month of May is a clear indicator that market demand in the Ottawa region remains strong.
